So many travelers have decided to explore their territory. Sometimes it is enough to look around to discover the magnificent places. My journey will take you to the Tuscan Alps which are located a few kilometers from my home. I live in a very beautiful and picturesque area between the sea and the mountains. So I decided to escape from the mass of people and the summer heat to visit the suggestive landscapes of our mountains and I went to the mountain Matanna.

The departure starts from the Alto Matanna refuge, a small restaurant with various animals around it. It should be borne in mind that the road to the starting point is not easy for those who cannot drive well. The road is full of curves and in some places it is very narrow, moreover it is also quite steep. So if you are not a good driver I advise you to give up.

From the very first steps you are surprised by the silence around you, the clean air and the sense of space. In front of the refuge there are indications of various routes. I chose itinerary number 3. Ideal for those who are not hardened to travel long distances, for those with children or for those who go for a walk with a dog.

Imagine experiencing a mix of extraordinary sensations: depth beauty lightness fear joy euphoria. It almost seems that the sky is holding its breath in front of the landscape that you will find at the top of the mountain.
Once you get to the top you will find the point where you can see the sea, the whole Versilia, the Messaciuccoli lake and the nearby hills. It is truly indescribable with words. I assure you that it is worth it to get there. I was also lucky enough to meet a herd of wild horses grazing, cows and a fallow deer :). It was a wonderful day.
